Fort Collins NIC Grant for Bucking Horse

Hey neighbors, please see below for an exciting message from the HOA Board!

Dear Bucking Horse Residents:

We are excited to announce that the Bucking Horse neighborhood was awarded a $25k grant through the City of Fort Collins Nature in the City (NIC) program! This money will be used to fund the rehabilitation of the native area near the wetland outlet, and will include the removal of noxious weeds, rehabilitation of the soils, installation of a temporary irrigation system and the installation of new plants and grasses. This work will be in addition to the boardwalk crossing that the neighborhood is installing across the wetland outlet. Construction on the boardwalk will occur first and will start at some point in the near future, while the ground is still frozen. The bulk of the work will occur in the spring when irrigation water is available. Work should be completed by mid-summer.

We are excited and grateful for this grant and look forward to seeing the project completed!

Don't Forget! Fall Fun & Food Drive Event is Saturday 10/14/23

Don't forget about the event tomorrow! We've got all sorts of pie flavors from Me Oh My Pie in Laporte that we'll be serving, and we will have a "pumpkin patch", live music by Stephen Castle, and face painting. Also, don't forget to bring your food donations for the Food Bank of Larimer County! We’re so excited to see how big of an impact we can make together as a neighborhood!

When you arrive, please make sure to set your donations in the line on the sidewalk to see how far we catch stretch our donations around the Bucking Horse "oval" (our little spin on 'Cans around the Oval' that is at CSU each year).

Fall Fun & Food Drive Event

Hey neighbors, it's officially fall! Let's celebrate the season together with our next event and fundraiser!

Pick a pumpkin from our "pumpkin patch," enjoy live music by Stephen Castle, get your kiddo's face painted, play some games, eat some pie from MeOhMy Coffee & Pie, and support a great cause - the Food Bank of Larimer County.

Our food drive goal is to see if we can stretch our donations all the way around the Bucking Horse "Oval". Bring canned and nonperishable foods to donate. When we come together as a community, we can really do something BIG to give back!

Here are some of their most needed items: peanut butter, canned meat/fish, canned fruit, whole grain low sugar cereal, whole grain pasta, brown rice, and macaroni & cheese.

Dovetail Park Opens September 29th!

Dovetail park is open today! Read below for more information from the City:

The Park Planning and Development Division of the City of Fort Collins Parks Department is excited to share that Dovetail Park will officially open for you and your families to enjoy on Friday, September 29. As soon as construction fencing has been removed, the community is invited to explore the park and enjoy all of the amenities it has to offer including a playground, shelter, areas for bocce ball, corn hole, ping pong, and a hammock garden. Unfortunately, there was a safety concern with the swing set so neighbors will notice swings are not currently installed. As soon as the manufacturer has supplied a safe repair solution the swings will be installed. Additionally, the community is asked to refrain from using the turf areas of the park to allow the grass to grow and become more established.

Save the date! On Monday, October 23 the City will host a formal ribbon cutting ceremony and celebration for the surrounding neighborhoods from 4:30-6 p.m.
