Red, White and Colorado Blue! It’s the big day! The big year! 250th Birthday of our Nation and 150th Birthday of our state!
This Saturday will be super fun with a live bald eagle presentation as soon as the pool opens (details below) Games and activities will keep everyone busy throughout the day at the pool….don’t forget the sunscreen! The neighborhood community is welcome to see the bald eagle even if you don’t plan on hanging out at the pool. To set expectations for the day, here’s the line up:
11:00 AM the pool opens. This year, you will not be allowed to ‘claim’ a spot under the pergola until after the presentation is over and the eagle has left the pool area. Please be respectful of the area being roped/tapped off. There will be lots of places to sit and still see the eagle but the Raptor Education Foundation will determine the space and distance requirements.
11:15 AM we will start the bald eagle presentation with a few announcements and the national anthem….please be mindful of the speakers, one will likely be in the grassy area.
During the presentation: There will not be music playing as usual during swimming so as not to compete with the presentation. While life guards will be on duty and no one will be prevented from being in the water, we do hope you will choose to listen to the presentation as this is a once in a lifetime opportunity! That being said, anyone who is in the water will be expected to be quiet so those who would like to hear the presentation may do so without distractions. Parents, please help us out!
12:15 PM (Approximately) the presentation will conclude. There will be a short amount of time for pictures/selfies with the eagle. Please note, I use that term loosely…you absolutely cannot touch the eagle and how close you can actually be for a picture will be determined by the handler.
MOST HUMBLE REQUEST…. in all seriousness, 100’s of hours have been spent making the decorations you will see around the pool. All done with the intension that many can be used year after year and added on to. Please help us out and talk to your kids (no matter the age) about not touching them so they will live a long and happy life in one piece 😉 THANK YOU!
See you Saturday morning!
