Thanks for a great summer everyone! I know you've all had such a great time playing and swimming at the pool and hanging out with neighbors that it's always hard to say goodbye to the summer. With the closing of the pool and the winterizing of the farm, it feels sleepy around the neighborhood. It's a great time to visit Jessup and find some time for yourself as the kids get into their own school routine. Find time to workout, find time for a cup of coffee, and definitely find time to browse the shops. Although things seem to slow down, your neighbors are hard at work planning and organizing for the holidays and for 2018.
The HOA subcommittees are in full swing. You may not realize that your neighbors volunteer to meet every month in order to make the neighborhood better. This may mean planning events or even looking at the budget to determine how we can do more each year. The Budget Subcommittee reviewed proposals from several companies and made recommendations to the board on landscaping, trash removal, and swimming pool contracts.
The Pool & Social and Horticulture subcommittees met together (because we don't have enough people for separate meetings) to plan the Fall Festival (10/29/17) and the Holiday Light Tour (12/14/17). I'm excited about both and I think you'll have a great time touching base with friends while your kids get to enjoy some fun activities. We would love to have you join your neighborhood subcommittees. The commitment is pretty low - just a meeting once a month and helping with events as you can. It's a great way to share your ideas but also a great way to gain a better understanding of how decisions are made and your role in those.
